Happy Holidays from IAM!
ANDI's Junior Ambassadors from local high schools spent the morning delivering hand written holiday greeting cards to seniors at Walnut Village Retirement Community.
These civic-minded young men embodied the altruistic spirit of the holiday season and IAM with their efforts to mitigate common themes of isolation and loneliness often times encountered in the latter stage of the lifespan.
The holidays can be a tough time for many seniors as many are isolated and without robust social support networks; couple that notion with a global pandemic and feelings of sadness and loneliness can hit an unfortunately high level.
This is where IAM's partnership with the community felt the need to act!
Cards were delivered in the stockings of the residents' doors for a warm surprise from our civic-minded young ambassadors. In true spirit of the season, many of the seniors expressed gratitude in reciprocation, and wrote back to our high school ambassadors.
From our andI family to yours - we wish you a safe and happy holiday season!
